Privacy Policy
Retro Dreamer (“we,” “us” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how information is handled in the iPhone and iPad versions of our games (“Apps”), such as Ice Cream Jump, in related customer support, and on our website, retrodreamer.com.
- Android games with Google Play purchases, such as Ice Cream Jump: Android games privacy policy
- Paid Android games, such as Sneezies HD: paid Android games privacy policy
- Steam games, Monsters & Monocles and Monsters ’Til Midnight: Steam games privacy policy
- Your game progress and settings are stored on your device, and some Apps sync them through your own iCloud account. We do not operate a player-account or game-save server.
- The Apps contain no advertisements, advertising SDKs or third-party analytics services.
- Optional purchases, Game Center and significant-update approvals are provided by Apple. Apple handles that information under its own privacy policy.
- We do not ask you to enter your birth date.
- You or your parent can contact us about privacy, access or deletion using the details below.
1. Game information on your device and in iCloud
The Apps store progress, scores, settings, unlocked content and purchase-entitlement records in their private storage on your device. We use this information to run the game, remember your choices and deliver content you have purchased. It is not uploaded to a Retro Dreamer game server.
If you are signed in to iCloud, some Apps use Apple’s iCloud key-value storage to keep unlocked content, progress and settings the same across your devices, and to remember that an update approval step has been completed. This information is stored in your own iCloud account by Apple. We cannot see it. You can turn off iCloud for an App in your device’s iCloud settings.
Your device’s own backups, such as iCloud Backup or a computer backup, may also include the Apps’ data. Apple and your backup settings control those backups.
The Apps do not provide Retro Dreamer player accounts, chat or public profiles. You can remove local information by deleting the App. That can erase your progress on that device; information in iCloud stays until you remove it in iCloud settings.
2. App Store purchases
Some Apps are sold for a price on the App Store, and some offer optional in-app purchases. Apple handles checkout, payment details, Family Sharing and Ask to Buy approvals. The game does not receive your payment-card number, bank-account details or Apple Account password.
When you buy or restore an item, the game receives purchase information from Apple, such as the product, a transaction identifier, the purchase date and its status, and stores the entitlement needed to remember what you own.
Apple gives us sales and payment reports for accounting. These do not identify individual buyers to us, and we do not use them to build advertising profiles. In-app purchases are optional; you can play without buying any in-app items.
If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may also give us summary usage statistics and crash reports. These do not identify you.
Apple operates the App Store under its own terms and privacy policy. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
3. Game Center
Many Apps offer Apple Game Center leaderboards and achievements. If you sign in to Game Center, the game sends your scores and achievements to Apple, and receives your Game Center player identifier and name from Apple to show them. Who can see your scores depends on your Game Center settings. We do not send this information to a Retro Dreamer server or use it for advertising.
Game Center is optional. Parents can restrict it with Screen Time. Apple handles Game Center information under its own privacy policy.
4. Significant updates and age range
Where the law requires it, some Apps ask for confirmation before you can use a significant update, such as a change to purchases or content. The App asks Apple whether this step applies to you. To help decide, it may also ask Apple which version of the App you first installed. If the step applies, Apple’s own screens handle it: an acknowledgement for adults, or a request for a parent’s approval for minors. Apple may also ask whether to share an age range, which tells the App only whether you are, for example, under or over 18, never a birth date.
The App uses Apple’s response only to complete this step. It does not store your age range. It remembers only that the step is complete, as described in section 1. The Apps do not change gameplay or features based on age, and none of this is sent to a Retro Dreamer server or used for advertising or profiling.
5. Children and families
If you are under 13, or a minor where you live, please ask your parent or legal guardian for permission before using the Apps. We encourage parents and guardians to review this policy and take an active role in their children’s use of games and purchases. The privacy protections described here apply to all players. The Apps do not ask players to create Retro Dreamer accounts, provide contact details, upload photos or communicate with other players.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has sent us personal information, please contact contact@retrodreamer.com so we can delete it from our records.
If a child under 13 contacts us directly, we use their contact information only to reply once to that request. We do not use it for anything else or contact the child again, and we delete it promptly after replying. If more help is needed, we ask that a parent or guardian contact us.
6. When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to provide, such as your message, an order reference or a screenshot. We use it to answer your request, investigate a problem and handle related follow-up. Please avoid sending passwords, payment-card details or unnecessary information about a child. A parent or guardian should contact us on a child’s behalf where possible.
Retro Dreamer is based in California, United States, where we handle support correspondence. Our email service providers process that correspondence for us. We do not use support messages to create marketing lists.
7. Legal grounds and disclosures
Where EU or UK data protection law applies, Retro Dreamer is the controller. We rely on these legal grounds:
- Contract: to deliver and restore purchases you request, and to answer requests about them.
- Legitimate interests: to answer other support requests, operate and secure our website, keep business records, and establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Our interest is running and supporting our games responsibly. We weigh it against your interests, and give particular weight to the interests of children.
- Legal obligation: to complete significant-update approvals where the law requires them, to keep tax, accounting and other records the law requires, and to respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell personal information from the Apps or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose information as needed for the Apple services described above, to providers handling business correspondence or records on our behalf, and where necessary to meet legal requirements or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. These disclosures are limited to information relevant to their purpose.
8. How long information is kept
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, then delete it:
- Support emails: deleted within 12 months after your request is closed, unless a purchase dispute or legal claim is still open, or we are legally required to keep them longer. In those cases we keep them only as long as needed, then delete them.
- Messages from a child: deleted promptly after our one reply, as described in section 5.
- Deletion requests: when you, or a parent or guardian, ask us to delete information, we do so within 30 days. If we must keep anything for an open dispute or a legal requirement, we will tell you what and why.
- Purchase records: we do not receive or keep records that identify individual App Store buyers.
Game information on your device and in iCloud remains until removed or replaced, as explained in section 1. Apple handles retention of information in its services under its own privacy policy.
9. Your privacy rights
You, or a parent or guardian acting for a child, can email contact@retrodreamer.com with the App’s name to access, correct or delete personal information we hold, or to exercise other rights available under applicable law. We may ask for the minimum information needed to verify the request.
Where EU or UK law applies, you can also ask us to restrict our use of your information. You can object to uses based on our legitimate interests, and you can receive information you gave us in a portable format where that right applies. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority: in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office; in the EU, the authority where you live or work. We’d welcome the chance to resolve your concern first.
We cannot access or erase game information stored on your device or in your iCloud account. For information held by Apple, use Apple’s Data and Privacy page. Deleting game data does not refund a purchase or remove it from your Apple Account.
10. Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information involved, including keeping gameplay data in private App storage; purchases, iCloud and Game Center are handled by Apple’s secure services. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
11. Our website
When you visit retrodreamer.com, our hosting provider automatically records server logs, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, the referring page and the time of your visit. These are used to operate and secure the site and to detect malfunctions or misuse. We do not use them to identify you or for advertising, and we do not use advertising or analytics cookies on the site.
We do not keep our own archives of these logs. Our hosting provider retains them for a limited period under its own policies. We share log information only if the law requires it.
12. Changes to this policy
We will publish changes to this policy and update its effective date. We will provide additional notice of material changes where required, and obtain consent or authorization before a new use when applicable law requires it.
